You'll find Chillesford's village sign just off the road near Woodbridge, and it's worth stopping for if you're already in the area. Unlike the standard painted wood affair you see in most villages, this one's actually a proper gallery piece - a hand-carved wooden sign that shows real craftsmanship. The level of detail is surprisingly good; the artist hasn't just knocked out a quick job.

It's not a destination in itself, mind you. You're not going to drive an hour out of your way for a village sign, but as part of a wider wander around Suffolk's backroads it works brilliantly. Free to look at, no opening hours to worry about, just pull in when you're passing. Woodbridge itself has proper shops and restaurants, so you won't be stuck for a base.
