Chester Roman Amphitheatre

The amphitheatre sits right in Chester's city centre, tucked beside the River Dee - you'll stumble across it while wandering the Roman Walls rather than hunt for it deliberately. What remains are the stone terraces where gladiators once fought, built around 100 AD when this was the fortress of Deva Victrix.
