Cefnen Wen

The walk up Cefnen Wen from Betws-y-Coed is straightforward enough, and that's precisely why it works so well as a half-day outing when you're based at one of the nearby glamping sites. It's not a proper mountain - more a solid peak that rewards you with views across the Conwy Valley without demanding crampons or fell-running experience.

On a clear day, the outlook justifies the leg work. You get Snowdonia spreading out to the west, the Conwy estuary to the north, and on your way up you'll spot the Swallow Falls if you're paying attention. The path is well-trodden enough that you won't get lost, though it's steep in patches and can be boggy after rain, so proper boots aren't optional.
