Canopy Walkway

Thirty feet above the forest floor, you'll get a proper birds-eye view of the Staffordshire countryside from this elevated walkway. The canopy-level platform lets you peer across the treetops towards the rolling hills that surround Stoke-on-Trent, giving you a completely different perspective on what's often dismissed as industrial heartland.

Families with older children will love the mild thrill of being up in the trees, though anyone with a fear of heights might find it a bit much. The walkway itself feels sturdy enough, but there's definitely that slight sway that reminds you you're not on solid ground. Kids under eight might need a steadying hand.

It's the sort of place that's lovely for an hour or so, particularly on a clear day when you can see for miles. The autumn colours are spectacular if you time it right. Worth combining with a longer walk through the surrounding woodland if you're feeling energetic.
