You've got an 18-hole championship course here, plus a 9-hole par-3 layout if you fancy something less demanding or are short on time. The driving range is decent for warming up, and there's a teaching academy if you want to improve your swing - the instructors know what they're doing.

Golfers will obviously get the most from this place. If you're a club member elsewhere, you can usually play as a visitor, though you'll want to ring ahead first. Green fees are reasonable for the standard, and the course itself is well-maintained without being pretentious. The clubhouse does food and drink, nothing fancy but perfectly adequate after eighteen holes.

It's a solid choice if you're staying at Burnham Holiday Village or Haven Burnham-on-Sea Holiday Village - both are less than ten miles away. You could knock off nine holes in an afternoon or play a full round starting early. Non-golfers, though? There's nothing here for you. It's purely for people who actually want to play golf. The course can get fairly busy at weekends, so weekday rounds tend to be more relaxed. Allow three hours for eighteen holes, under two for the par-3 course. It's worth the journey if golf's your thing, but don't expect views or atmosphere beyond the fairways.
