The Burial Ground near Market Rasen is one of those sites that rewards curiosity over convenience. You won't find gift shops or visitor centres here - just an actual archaeological site where real excavation work has uncovered evidence of Iron Age and Roman settlement. If you're basing yourself at Wolds View Country Park or Station Farm - both excellent for caravanning - the Burial Ground makes for a low-key morning before heading somewhere with more immediate appeal. It's the sort of place you'd combine with a longer walk across the Lincolnshire landscape rather than visit in isolation. Real archaeology isn't always dramatic, but that's rather the point.
