Buckland Monachorum Community Meadow

A strip of proper Devon meadowland tucked just outside Tavistock, Buckland Monachorum Community Meadow is the sort of place you'll walk past and think "what's that doing there?" - and then realise it's exactly what the area needed. It's a working nature reserve run by locals, with wildflowers doing their thing across open grassland and woodland edges that attract birds and butterflies through the seasons.

It appeals more to people who genuinely enjoy looking at what's growing and flying about. Walkers heading into Tavistock town itself might pop in as a warm-up. The meadow sits nicely between the holiday parks and the town centre, so it slots in well if you're exploring the Tavistock area properly rather than just stopping off for an afternoon.
