Broad Walk

A long, tree-lined avenue running through parkland near Marlow, the Broad Walk is one of those spots that catches you off guard with its sheer straightness and formality. It's basically what it sounds like - a properly wide path designed for strolling, flanked by mature trees that create this lovely tunnel effect depending on the season. Nothing flashy, just good bones.

Walkers will appreciate it most, especially those who want something gentle and flat without the faffing about. There's no admission charge or time restrictions that I'm aware of - it's the sort of place you rock up to, step out of the car, and get on with it. Allow anything from twenty minutes to an hour depending on how far you fancy going and whether you're stopping to actually look at the views down the length of it.

It's the kind of thing that works brilliantly alongside a camping or glamping stay at any of the nearby sites - Bella Vista, Home Farm, or Chiltern Retreat are all within spitting distance. Pair it with a walk around Marlow itself or along the Thames path and you've got a proper afternoon sorted. Not dramatic, not a spectacle, but genuinely pleasant. The sort of walk where you can actually think, which in 2024 is becoming a bit of a luxury.
