Boddington Meadow

A flat, open meadow on the Warwickshire-Northamptonshire border near Daventry, Boddington Meadow is the sort of place you'd walk through rather than plan a trip around. That said, if you're based at Coleman's Hill Campsite just down the road - it's barely a kilometre away - it's worth a morning ramble.

The meadow itself is unremarkable in the way that British grassland often is: peaceful rather than showy. You get proper countryside without the drama of hills or woodland. On a clear day you can see across decent distances, and in spring and early summer the wildflowers put on a decent show if you know when to look. Walkers will find it straightforward terrain, though there's not much of a destination feel - it's more about the walk than arriving somewhere.

Families with young kids might find it a bit flat and open for more than twenty minutes unless they're into spotting birds or chasing butterflies. If you're staying at Hill Farm Glamping or Holt Farm Campsite nearby, it's the kind of local loop you'd do to stretch the legs before breakfast rather than as a proper outing.

No facilities, no fees, no drama. Free to roam whenever you fancy. It's the sort of place that makes sense in context - a useful addition to a walking weekend in the area rather than a draw in itself. Perfectly fine if you're in the neighbourhood, but don't make a special journey.
