Walking through Kings Woods in late April when the bluebells are at their peak is genuinely worth clearing your calendar for. The woodland floor turns electric blue - it's one of those rare moments when reality actually matches the Instagram photos. You're looking at roughly 30-40 minutes of easy rambling through mature beech and oak, with the bluebells creating a proper carpet beneath your feet.

It's ideal for families with younger kids who won't complain about a short woodland walk, and photographers will lose hours here. Older children might find it a bit samey if the flowers aren't out, but during bluebell season it's mesmerising. There's no admission charge - it's just a public woodland you can access freely, though arriving early matters if you want to beat the crowds and actually get decent shots.
