Benscliffe Hill

The walk up Benscliffe Hill rewards you with proper views across Leicestershire - nothing dramatic, but on a clear day you can see right across the Charnwood Forest area. It's a straightforward climb from Leicester, taking about twenty minutes if you're reasonably fit, and the summit itself is modest but pleasant enough for a break.

Families with young kids might find it a bit of a slog for what amounts to a modest viewpoint, though older children who like a bit of exertion will manage fine. History types won't find much here - it's the landscape and local perspective that matters.
