It's the kind of peak that rewards you for half an hour's graft with proper views across Perthshire - nothing earth-shattering, but solid. The approach is gentle enough for most walkers, though the final push gets a bit steeper. On a clear day you'll see across to the Trossachs and towards Stirling, which makes it worth the effort.

This is walker territory, really. Kids will manage it fine if they're used to hills, though younger legs might find the trudge back tedious. It's not a technical climb - just a decent moorland tramp. Allow a couple of hours return from the car park, longer if you're stopping for photos or a breather.

If you're staying at one of the holiday parks nearby - Twenty Shilling Wood or Comrie Croft are both within easy driving distance - it's a sensible afternoon sortie. Pairs well with exploring Crieff itself, which has enough cafes and shops to fill an hour or two. The real appeal is that it's accessible without being boring. You're not climbing a proper mountain, but you're not on a tame forest trail either. It's proper hill walking without needing Munro obsession. Worth fitting in if you're based in the area, though don't rearrange your whole trip around it.
