The cathedral sits right in the heart of Belfast's city centre, and it's properly striking the moment you walk through the doors. Built in 1899, St Anne's is all soaring stone arches and intricate mosaics - the kind of place that makes you crane your neck upwards whether you're religious or not. The real showstopper is the baptistery, done out in marble and topped with a golden mosaic ceiling that catches the light beautifully.

It's worth an hour of your time if you're staying nearby, and genuinely interesting for anyone into Victorian architecture or church history. You can wander around at your own pace, and there's usually someone on hand to answer questions. The building itself tells the story of Belfast's prosperity during the industrial era - no expense spared on the craftsmanship.
