Beinn Chaorach

Getting up Beinn Chaorach from Oban is a straightforward hill walk rather than a serious mountain expedition, which suits a lot of people just fine. The peak sits at 1,122 metres and commands proper views across Argyll's lochs and glens when the weather plays ball - which, let's be honest, isn't always guaranteed up here.

The approach is reasonably direct without being boring. You're climbing through moorland and rough grassland, and the path is generally clear enough that you won't spend half your time checking your phone. Allow three to four hours for the round trip depending on your pace and how long you linger at the top.
