Free to visit, and worth the slight detour if you're camping in the area. Stocks Farm Camping is barely over a mile away, so it's an easy evening walk or a quick hop by car. Golden Grove is another option at 3.7 miles, and if you're based at Gosfield Lake Resort, it's a reasonable 5.6-mile drive. It won't occupy a full day, but paired with a wander around Braintree itself or another Essex site, it fits nicely into a park-based holiday. The quiet lanes around here are lovely for cycling too, if that's your thing.
