Allt Feigan

Allt Feigan is a modest peak in the Brecon Beacons that catches you off guard with how much it punches above its weight. You won't find crowds here, which is precisely what makes it worth the effort. The summit sits at a decent height without requiring technical climbing - mostly straightforward walking, though the final push does get a bit steep for what's essentially a local fell.

The views from the top stretch across Mid Wales properly, taking in the broader Beacons landscape without the tourist bottleneck you get at Pen y Fan. On a clear day you can pick out the ridgelines and valleys that make this part of Powys feel genuinely wild. It's the sort of place where you understand why people bother getting out of bed for walking.

Walkers will get the most from this one. The route isn't long enough for a full day's graft, but it works brilliantly as a morning or afternoon outing alongside other Beacons exploration. Families with capable young hikers should manage it fine, though slower strollers might find the final section a slog. There's nothing technical about it - just solid uphill work and decent leg strength.
