Walking into Zululand forest near Hereford feels like stumbling into someone's private woodland fantasy - because, well, that's rather what it is. This isn't a conventional country park or a manicured nature reserve. It's a working forest with a thoroughly unusual personality, tucked into the Powys borderlands where Mid Wales starts to get properly wild.

The forest itself is genuinely atmospheric.
