Wormhole Hill

The name alone makes you curious - Wormhole Hill sits near Ulverston in Cumbria and delivers exactly what it promises: a proper fell walk with views that justify the climb. The summit itself isn't particularly high or dramatic, but the route up rewards effort with wide-reaching vistas across Morecambe Bay and inland towards the Lake District fells.

It's the sort of walk that appeals to people who want something achievable without needing full hiking kit. Families with older kids will manage it fine; younger ones might find it a slog depending on fitness. The terrain is rough in places but well-trodden enough that you won't get lost. Allow around two hours return time from the base unless you're taking your time with views and photography.
