Wiltshire Alpacas

You'll find yourself face-to-face with the most ridiculously photogenic animals in Wiltshire at this alpaca farm just outside Devizes. These aren't your average llamas - alpacas are smaller, fluffier, and somehow manage to look perpetually amused at the world. The farm lets visitors interact with them properly, which means you can hand-feed, pet, and generally feel like you've wandered into a particularly wholesome fever dream.

It's the sort of place that works brilliantly if you've got young kids who've hit the "I'm bored of museums" wall, or if you're just the type who thinks spending an afternoon with alpacas beats most alternatives. Fair enough either way. Allow a couple of hours maximum - you're not hiking Everest here, just enjoying some genuinely odd creatures who seem entirely unbothered by human attention.

Well worth doing if you're based at Mill Farm Glamping (basically on the doorstep) or any of the other parks scattered around the Devizes area. It's the kind of activity that fills an afternoon without demanding serious effort - perfect for a day when the weather's decent but you can't face a proper walk. The alpacas won't care if you show up in your camping gear, and that's rather the point.
