Willow Dykes Wood

A proper woodland walk through Northumberland's quieter corners, Willow Dykes Wood sits just outside Alnwick and delivers exactly what you'd hope for - ancient trees, muddy paths, and the kind of peace you don't get on the main tourist routes. The wood is straightforward: you're in among mature woodland, mostly beech and oak, with a stream running through and enough undergrowth to feel genuinely wild without needing rock-climbing gear.
