The woodland around it offers decent paths for a gentle hour or so, especially appealing if you've got young kids who need burning off between campsite activities. It's the kind of spot where locals know to go when they want fresh air without the fuss of a major attraction.

Really, this works best as part of a broader walk rather than a destination in itself. Come in spring or after rain when the water's flowing properly; summer drought can leave it a bit underwhelming. Free access, naturally - it's woodland, not a ticketed site. The Chiltern Hills nearby offer far more dramatic walking if you're properly keen, but if you're based at Merlin Farm or Norcott Campsite and want an easy morning outing with the children, this beats sitting around the caravan.
