Weddersbie Hill

The walk up Weddersbie Hill is short and sharp - expect to be at the summit in under half an hour from the car park near Cupar. It's not dramatic in the Alpine sense, but the Fife countryside spreads out properly once you're up there, and on a clear day you can see right across to the Forth and beyond. The path itself is straightforward woodland trail that opens onto moorland towards the top, nothing technical but the final push has some scrambling if you want to make it interesting.

History types will appreciate that this sits within proper old Fife territory - the kind of landscape that's been walked for centuries. It's the sort of place locals use regularly rather than a tick-box tourist attraction, which means it stays relatively quiet even in summer. Walkers will get a good hour's round trip here, families with older kids can manage it easily, but it's not the destination for pushchairs or serious rambling.

Free to access, no facilities at the base, so bring water. Best visited when the ground isn't waterlogged - winter here can turn it into a muddy slog. If you're staying at Annsmuir Parkhome and Holiday Home Park or Snugs at Logie Farm nearby, this makes a proper morning walk before heading elsewhere in Fife. Not the most spectacular summit in Scotland by a long shot, but worthwhile if you're in the area and fancy something quick with genuine views.
