It's genuinely impressive when you get close to it, the sheer scale of the thing stopping you dead. The best vantage point gives you that classic postcard shot where you can count the arches marching off into the distance, and on a clear day the light catches the brickwork in a way that makes photographers abandon all sense of time.

It's worth the trip if you're into industrial heritage or just fancy a spot of brick appreciation. Kids might find it interesting for ten minutes - the size alone gets them - but it's not exactly an adventure playground. A quick detour from Sevenoaks won't cost you more than half an hour, including the walk from the nearby car park.

The real trick is catching it in decent light. Late afternoon is when the shadows between those arches become proper dramatic. Don't expect facilities or visitor infrastructure - this is a roadside viewpoint, full stop.

If you're staying at Thriftwood Country Park just down the road, it's an easy afternoon outing to break up the holiday. Pair it with a walk through the surrounding countryside and you've got yourself a decent few hours. Worth seeing, but don't plan your entire trip around it.
