Victoria Park Playground

Victoria Park in Warminster is a proper town playground - the sort of place that does exactly what it says on the tin without any fuss. You get the standard setup: climbing frames, slides, swings, and a sandpit. Nothing fancy, nothing trying too hard. It's the kind of spot where you can actually sit on a bench while the kids burn off energy for a solid hour or so.

This is absolutely a family thing. Under-eights will have a genuinely good time; teenagers will find it a bit thin after twenty minutes. The playground is free, which helps when you're trying not to spend a fortune on a holiday.

It works well as part of a day around Warminster. You're only a short drive from Center Parcs Longleat Forest if you're staying there, or the Longleat Caravan and Motorhome Club Campsite just down the road. If the weather's decent and you need to let the children loose without driving somewhere grand, this does the job. The park itself is pleasant enough - decent green space, nothing too dramatic.

Timing-wise, mornings are quieter if you're after a peaceful visit. No admission charge means you can pop in for half an hour without guilt. It's not the sort of destination you'd travel across the county for, but if you're based locally for a week, it'll save you at least once.
