About Vickerstown Park
This is walker territory, really. The paths are straightforward enough, but you'll want decent boots - the ground squelches after rain, and the wind coming off the water can be fierce. Birdwatchers will genuinely rate it. Oystercatchers, redshank, the occasional heron. It's not a manicured spot. There are no tearooms or visitor facilities that I could find, so come prepared with a flask and work out the tide times before you go.
All of which means families with young children might get restless after a decent loop - hour and a half max if they're not into spotting birds. But if you're staying at High Haume Glamping nearby, it's absolutely worth a morning ramble. The reserve slots nicely into a wider Millom day - the town itself has history if you dig into it, but Vickerstown is where you come for fresh air and quiet.
Free to access. Go early if you want to avoid the handful of other visitors and catch the best light on the water.
