Upper Jacky's Tor

Standing 186 metres above sea level, this rocky outcrop delivers proper panoramic views across the Gower Peninsula without the crowds you'll find at Rhossili Down. The scramble to the top takes about twenty minutes from the nearest car park, following a well-trodden path that gets a bit steep towards the summit.

From the tor itself, you can see right across to the Mumbles and Swansea Bay on clear days, with the Bristol Channel stretching towards Devon. Walking enthusiasts will appreciate how it connects to longer routes across Cefn Bryn ridge, while families might find the rocky terrain challenging for very young children.

There's no entrance fee and you can visit any time, though the exposed position means it's properly windy up there - not the place for a picnic on a blustery day. Early morning or late afternoon gives the best light for photographs, and you'll often have the place to yourself.

If you're staying at one of the nearby holiday parks like Gower Farm Touring or Newpark Holiday Park, it makes for a decent morning walk before heading to the beaches. The tor works well as part of a longer Gower exploration, sitting roughly halfway between Swansea and the more famous coastal spots at Three Cliffs Bay.
