The walk up Tullich Hill from Crieff is modest in ambition but delivers something proper. You're not scrambling up a proper mountain here - it's a steady climb through mixed woodland that takes the best part of an hour, depending on your pace and how often you stop to catch your breath.

What makes it worth the effort is the view when you reach the top. You get a decent panorama across Strathearn towards the Trossachs, and on a clear day the perspective shifts how you see the landscape around Crieff itself. It's the sort of walk that feels like you've earned a sit-down at the summit without having knackered yourself entirely.

This works best for families with older kids or anyone after a gentle half-day outing. It's not a destination in itself - more the sort of thing you'd tack onto a longer Perthshire visit. Crieff's got enough going on that you won't feel cheated if the weather turns halfway up.

The route is straightforward enough that you don't need a detailed map, though the woodland can be a bit muddy even days after rain.
