Trull Waterfall

The water tumbles down a modest but proper drop just outside Taunton, making Trull Waterfall a decent spot if you're camping nearby and fancy a quick woodland walk. It's not Niagara - the fall itself is maybe 20 feet or so - but the setting's pleasant enough, with trees framing the drop and a decent pool at the base where the water settles before carrying on downstream.

Walkers will get the most from this one. It's an easy stroll to reach, nothing that'll test your fitness, and the surrounding woodland gives you a reason to stretch your legs beyond just gawping at the cascade. Kids won't be overwhelmed or bored - there's water to splash about in if it's warm, and the whole thing feels a bit adventurous without requiring proper hiking boots.

The real draw is proximity. If you're staying at Cornish Farm Touring Park or Ashe Farm just down the road, you can knock this out in an hour without it feeling like a chore. Don't expect to spend all afternoon here unless you're the type who sits by water and reads a book. It's more of a pleasant detour than a destination in itself.

No entry fee as far as anyone can tell - just turn up and have a wander. Go in the wetter months when there's proper flow; summer can leave it looking a bit weedy and underwhelming. Pairs well with other walks around Taunton if you're doing a proper touring holiday in the area.
