Trink Hill

The walk up Trink Hill rewards you with proper views across the Cornwall coastline - nothing dramatic, but solid stuff if you're staying in or around Trink. It's the sort of spot locals know about rather than something that'll have queues on a summer Saturday.

The hill itself is accessible without specialist gear, though it's steepish in places and can get boggy after rain. Allow 45 minutes to an hour return depending on your pace and how long you linger at the top. There's no visitor centre or facilities - bring a bottle of water and good footwear.

Families with older kids will get on well here. Younger ones might find the walk a bit of a slog, though if they're keen on spotting things - birds, the occasional ponies, wildflowers in season - there's enough going on to keep them interested. Walkers using the broader Cornish path network will slip this in without thinking twice.

If you're based at Polmanter Touring Park or St. Ives Holiday Village, it's basically on your doorstep - a quick local jaunt rather than a road trip. The peak sits within easy reach of St. Ives proper as well, so you could combine it with a beach afternoon or a spot of lunch in town. Free to visit, obviously.
