Trinity Church

Trinity Church sits on the outskirts of Inverness, a stone structure that's easy to drive past if you're not paying attention. Built in the 19th century, it's a proper bit of Highland ecclesiastical architecture - the sort of place that rewards a fifteen-minute wander if you're staying nearby.

Inside, there's the usual vault of a Scottish church: dark wood pews, high ceilings, that particular smell of old hymn books and polish. The stained glass isn't spectacular, but the light through it on a grey afternoon has a certain something. You'll probably have the place to yourself, which is either lovely or slightly unsettling depending on your disposition.

It's not a destination in itself. But if you're based at Coulmore Bay Holiday Park or Bunchrew Caravan Park for a few days in the Highlands, it's worth the twenty-minute detour from Inverness. History types and those keen on Scottish religious architecture will find enough to occupy them; families with restless kids won't. Allow half an hour at most.

The church is free to visit, though opening hours aren't widely published - check locally before making the trip. It's the sort of small-town spot that feels authentic precisely because it's not trying to be a tourist attraction. Pair it with a walk into Inverness itself or a trip out to nearby Culloden if you're building a proper day out.
