It's worth stopping for, though - particularly if you're staying at one of the nearby parks like Bron-y-Wendon or Plas Farm and fancy a proper walk rather than another beach day.

Trillo Sant is a medieval parish church with real character. The interior is simple but atmospheric, with the kind of worn flagstone floors and whitewashed walls that speak of centuries of Sunday services. You won't find dramatic architecture or ornate decoration here - it's the opposite of showy, which is rather the point. The churchyard itself is lovely for a wander, especially in spring when the graves are surrounded by wildflowers.

This appeals most to walkers and history types rather than families with small children. Allow 20 minutes inside, longer if you explore the churchyard and the surrounding lanes. There's rarely a queue and admission appears to be free, though it's worth checking locally as opening hours aren't widely advertised online.

What makes it work as a park holiday stop is location. It's close enough to Llandudno for when you've had enough of the promenade, but genuinely quiet - the kind of place where you remember why you came to North Wales in the first place.
