Walkers will appreciate the woodland sections, especially if you're visiting from Rossendale and want something more adventurous than a park circuit but less demanding than a fell day. The mix of open grassland and tree cover means you get decent views without that exposed wind-tunnel feeling. You could comfortably spend two to three hours here without rushing, longer if you're a real potter.
