You'll find Tickhill Pond tucked away in the village itself, a proper slice of rural South Yorkshire that most people barrel past on the A631 without noticing. It's a modest expanse of water bordered by trees and open grassland - the kind of spot where locals come to feed the ducks on a Saturday morning rather than somewhere you'd plan a day around.

That said, it's a pleasant enough walk if you're staying at Bawtry Caravan Park or Sunnyview Touring Park nearby. The pond works well as a leg-stretch midway through a park holiday, particularly if you've got young children who want to burn off energy without a major trek involved. Bring bread if you like (though most people do and the ducks get overfed), grab a bench, and watch the world move slowly. The village around it has a cafe or two, so you can make an afternoon of it without much fuss.

It's not going to blow your mind - the water's reflective rather than stunning, and there's no visitor facilities to speak of. But that's rather the point. If you're after manicured gardens and play areas, look elsewhere. If you want a genuine village moment where time moves at a different pace, you could do worse. The walk around the perimeter takes about twenty minutes at a dawdle. Free, always accessible, and honest about what it is.
