The London Helicopter

There's a helicopter just sitting in a field near Redhill, and yes, it's called the London Helicopter. You'll spot it from the road - impossible to miss, really. It's a genuine aircraft that's been grounded here as a quirky roadside attraction, the kind of thing that makes you do a double-take and think, "Well, that's different."

It's more of a photo stop than a destination in itself. You can pull over, snap a picture, let the kids gawk at the propeller blades, then carry on with your day. There's not much to do beyond that - you're looking at five minutes maximum unless you're the sort who takes seventeen angles of the same shot.

Families with young children get a kick out of it, especially if they're into vehicles and machinery. Older kids and adults will find it amusing rather than engaging. It's free to view from outside, though I'd check ahead about any access restrictions or special viewing opportunities.

As a park holiday base near Redhill, Long Acres and its glamping counterpart are both within easy reach, so you could easily swing past the helicopter as a brief detour between proper activities. It's the kind of thing worth a five-minute stop if you're in the area, but I wouldn't go out of your way for it. Think of it as a fun bit of Surrey oddness rather than a main event.
