The Green

Grass stretches out in front of you as you step onto East Cowes' central green space. It's exactly what it says on the tin - a proper village green where locals walk their dogs, kids kick footballs about, and families spread out picnic blankets on sunny afternoons.

Families staying at nearby holiday parks like Waverley Park or Comforts Farm will find this a handy spot for letting little ones burn off energy. The open space means parents can relax while children run around safely. Dog walkers from the surrounding caravan sites make good use of it too.

Nothing fancy here, mind you. No playground equipment or formal gardens - just well-maintained grass with a few benches dotted around the edges. But that's rather the point. Sometimes you just need somewhere to sit with a coffee and watch the world go by.

Being open all hours means you can pop over early morning or evening when the holiday parks feel a bit cramped. It's particularly pleasant in late afternoon when the light's golden and locals are heading home from work. Takes about ten minutes to walk around the perimeter, though you could easily spend an hour here if you've brought a book or the kids are happy playing.
