The Cathedral of St Andrew in Inverness town centre is the seat of the Diocese of Moray - and frankly, it's worth ducking into if you're already exploring the high street rather than making a special trip. The current building dates from the 1860s, all proper Victorian Gothic with those twin spires you'll spot from miles around. Inside, the stained glass is decent enough, though nothing that will blow your mind if you've seen much medieval ecclesiastical work elsewhere.

It's really a place for church architecture enthusiasts or anyone with a genuine interest in Scottish religious history. Kids will get fidgety within twenty minutes unless they're genuinely keen on spotting architectural details. The main draw is how it sits within Inverness itself - you can easily combine a visit with a walk along the River Ness or a look at the castle ruins opposite.

Free to enter, takes about thirty minutes maximum for a proper look around. Best visited on a quieter weekday morning rather than when the town's rammed with coach parties. If you're staying at Dingwall Camping and Caravanning Club Site, it's only six miles away, so worth a brief stop en route to other Highland attractions. That said, if you're doing a park holiday in the area, prioritise the actual landscape - glens, lochs, proper wild stuff - over spending time in a Victorian cathedral. Inverness itself is pleasant enough for an afternoon, but the real magic is further north.
