Talagerllan creek

The creek itself is the draw here - a proper tidal inlet that carves through the cliffs near New Quay, with water that shifts from slate grey to almost turquoise depending on the light and the time of day. It's not a formal attraction with facilities or opening hours; you simply find your way down and explore what's there. Rocky outcrops, a scatter of pebbles, and the constant sound of water moving through a narrow gorge. Walkers love it because the coastal path gives you access without too much faffing about, and the walk down to the waterline takes maybe ten minutes from the clifftop.

The creek works best if you're into geology or just want a break from the beach-and-ice-cream circuit. It's compact enough that you won't spend hours here, but it's worth the detour if you're camped nearby - and there are several parks within easy reach. Penrhyn Farm Camping, Haven Quay West, and Ty Rhos Farm are all under a mile away, so it's a quick jaunt for an afternoon wander. Time it right with the tides and you'll see more water; go at low tide and you get the full rockscape. Worth doing on a clear day when the light hits the water properly.

New Quay itself is only a short walk away, so you can combine this with a proper seaside stop - pubs, fish and chips, the usual. Don't expect dramatic cliffs or a waterfall; this is understated West Wales coastal stuff. Exactly the sort of place locals know about and visitors usually miss.
