It's the sort of place locals actually use - not a grand Victorian affair, but a functioning hub where you can grab a book, sit quietly with a coffee, or ask the staff for recommendations without feeling rushed.

What you get here is straightforward: a decent collection of fiction and non-fiction, computer access, and a reading room that's genuinely peaceful. If you're camping nearby at Home Farm or Bella Vista and the weather turns, it's a decent refuge for an hour or two. Kids won't be bored if they like books, but it's not a play-based activity - go in with expectations set accordingly.
