St Thomas More's Church

The little church tucked away in Stockbridge has a lot more going on than you'd expect from the outside. St Thomas More's sits quietly among the Georgian architecture that makes this market town rather special, and stepping inside reveals proper thoughtful stained glass and the sort of peaceful atmosphere you can't manufacture.

This is a working parish church, so don't expect museum vibes - it's still very much a living place of worship. The building itself dates back centuries, though it's been modified and restored along the way. If you're interested in ecclesiastical architecture or just fancy a moment's stillness during a Hampshire break, it's worth poking your head in. Stockbridge itself is the draw here rather than any single attraction. It's a proper proper town with independent shops, decent pubs, and a genuine feel that's absent from most high streets these days. Park yourself at The Meadow Glamping - just three miles out - and you've got a comfortable base for exploring the Test Valley. The church visit takes fifteen minutes maximum, but it slots nicely into a morning wandering Stockbridge's streets and hunting for lunch at one of the local spots.
