The church sits quietly in Llanbedr, a proper rural corner of Powys that rewards those willing to leave the main roads. St Peter's is a working parish church - the kind where you'll find the door unlocked on a sunny afternoon and locals stopping by to tidy the flowers. There's no charge to step inside. Go midweek if possible. Peak season brings the occasional tourist coach, but mostly you'll have the place to yourself. Allow half an hour unless you're genuinely interested in medieval architecture, in which case bring your camera and a notebook.
