St. Peter’s Bengeworth

The parish church of St. Peter's in Bengeworth, just outside Evesham, is one of those places that rewards a quiet moment away from the town centre. It's a medieval church with genuine character - the kind where you can actually feel the weight of centuries rather than just read about it on a plaque.

What you're looking at is largely Perpendicular Gothic, with a tower that commands the skyline around here. Inside, there's proper medieval stonework and the sort of peaceful atmosphere that makes even a short visit feel restorative. If you're into church architecture or local history, you'll find plenty to occupy yourself for twenty minutes or so. It works particularly well as a gentle addition to a park holiday in the area. Evesham itself is on the doorstep, and there's something rather nice about breaking up a caravan stay at Bredon-Vale or Orchard Blossom with a walk into Bengeworth and a church visit. The Worcestershire countryside around here is proper rolling stuff, so you could easily combine this with a longer ramble. No special opening hours to worry about - it's a functioning parish church, so access is straightforward. Worth an hour if you're staying locally and fancy something low-key and genuinely historic.
