St. Paul's

St. Paul's sits right in the heart of Conwy, a medieval walled town that's worth far more than an afternoon's poking about. The church itself is a proper working parish church, red sandstone and solid, with origins reaching back centuries. You'll find it wedged among the narrow streets where locals actually live - not some sanitised museum piece.

The interior is what holds your attention. The woodwork is exceptional - the roof screen and stalls show real craftsmanship, and there's enough detail to keep history buffs occupied for a good hour. If you're staying at Parkdean Resorts Ty Mawr or Golden Gate Holiday Centre, you're barely a mile away, so it's an easy morning or late afternoon visit without the car.

This isn't a destination in itself, frankly. But it's the sort of thing that makes sense if you're already exploring Conwy - and you should be, given the castle and walls. Admission is typically free, though donations are welcome. Allow thirty minutes minimum if you're just passing through, longer if medieval architecture gets you properly excited.

Families with older kids will find it interesting enough, though there's not much to do hands-on. Young children will get restless quickly. Walkers heading up into the Conwy Valley can easily slot it in as part of a broader day out. Go midweek if you can - weekends bring tour groups and it loses some of its peace.
