The cathedral sits on the island of Lismore, a twenty-minute ferry ride from Oban, and that journey alone sets the tone for what you're after here - something quieter, something away from the main drag. St Moluag's isn't vast or particularly ornate. What you get instead is an honest medieval church with genuine age baked into its walls, dating back to the 13th century, though bits of it are older still.
