St Michael's Church

The churchyard sits just back from the cliffs near Praa Sands, and on a clear day you can hear the sea from the gravestones. St Michael's is a proper Cornish church - nothing flashy, just honest stone and time-worn angles - but the location is what gets you. The view west along the coast from here is genuinely worth the short walk to reach it.

Inside you'll find the usual church bits: a nave, some old wooden pews, the kind of hushed air that makes you whisper without thinking. If you're into local history or ecclesiastical architecture, there's enough detail here to spend twenty minutes poking about. For everyone else, it's a decent five-minute stop on a coastal walk - the sort of place that feels properly rooted to its landscape rather than plonked down as a tourist tick.

The churchyard itself is atmospheric, especially in late afternoon light when the granite headstones cast long shadows. It's free to wander around, and the coastal path passes nearby, so you can build it into a longer walk without backtracking.

It's not the sort of attraction that needs hours of your time, but if you're already in the area exploring the cliffs around Praa Sands, you might as well take ten minutes.
