The church sits on a quiet lane between Louth and the Wolds, a proper country spot where you'll likely have the place to yourself. St Margaret's dates back to medieval times, and the interior rewards a proper look - there's decent medieval stonework, some decent stained glass, and the kind of calm you don't get in towns. The chancel's particularly worth your time if you're into that sort of thing.

It's the type of visit that works best if you're already exploring the Lincolnshire Wolds - not a destination in itself, but genuinely worthwhile if you're passing through. History buffs will spend a solid twenty minutes inside; families with restless kids less so, unless they're the type to enjoy poking around old buildings. Free to visit, obviously, and there's parking nearby without any fuss.

If you're camping in the area - Three Horseshoes is just three miles away, or Oxcombe and Longwool Shepherd Huts if you fancy something with more comfort - it's worth adding to a morning's ramble. Pair it with a walk up towards the Wolds proper and a pub lunch back in Louth. The village itself is tiny and offers nothing else, so don't expect tea rooms or a gift shop.
