St German's Church - Ranby

A walk through Ranby village leads you to St German's Church, a sturdy medieval structure that tells you plenty about rural Lincolnshire life across the centuries. The building itself dates back to Norman times, though what you see today is mostly 13th and 14th century work - solid stone, decent proportions, and the kind of no-nonsense charm that speaks to centuries of Sunday services rather than architectural showiness.

Oxcombe Campsite is a bit further at 5.4 miles, but still reasonable for a planned visit. The village itself is quiet - you're not coming here for shops or restaurants, but if you're interested in medieval churches and don't mind small, unpretentious places, it's worth the detour.
