St George's Church

The church sits in a quiet corner near Farnham, one of those proper Surrey parish churches that's been watching over the same plot of land for centuries. St George's is the kind of place you stumble upon while walking the Surrey Hills rather than deliberately hunt down, though that doesn't make it less worth your time.

Inside, you'll find the standard Victorian and medieval mix - heavy on the stone, heavy on the atmosphere. The real appeal here is the peace of it. No crowds, no gift shop, just a functioning church where locals still worship on Sundays. If you're into church architecture or brass rubbings, there's enough to occupy you for twenty minutes or so. It works best as a walking detour rather than a destination in itself.
