St Bartholomew's Church, Thruxton

The churchyard at Thruxton sits quietly off the main road, and you'd miss it entirely if you weren't looking. St Bartholomew's is a proper medieval church - 12th century at its heart - with that weathered stone quality that comes from genuine age rather than renovation work. The interior's modest: a simple nave, some decent windows, and the kind of peaceful silence you actually notice after driving through Hereford.

This is a place for walkers and history types rather than families after a day out.
