St Ann's Church

St Ann's Church sits in Radipole, a village that most people drive straight through on the way to somewhere else. The church itself is a proper medieval building - all flint and stone - with the kind of quiet atmosphere you get when very few people are about. Inside, there's decent stained glass and the usual chancel, nave, the lot. If you're into old churches and their architectural details, you'll find enough to keep you occupied for twenty minutes or so.

Historically minded types will appreciate the medieval work, though it's not the most dramatic example in Dorset. Families with young kids won't get much from it unless they're already church-curious. Walkers passing through the area might duck in briefly, especially if the weather turns.

The real draw for most people staying in the area will be the proximity to Chesil Beach Lodge Park and the other coastal holiday parks within a couple of miles - Littlesea and East Fleet Farm if you're after something quieter. If you're based at any of these for a week, St Ann's makes a perfectly serviceable stop on a morning walk through Radipole, nothing more. The village itself is unremarkable. Free entry, as far as I can tell, though opening hours seem to depend on whoever has the key. Check locally when you arrive.
