Right in the heart of Southwold, on the green itself, you'll find a proper little putting course that's perfect for an hour or so when the weather's decent. It's the sort of thing that sounds throwaway until you're actually there with a putter in hand, trying to sink a ball through a windmill or around some ridiculous obstacle. The cafe bit is the real draw - grab a coffee and a cake, watch people attempt their putts, and soak in the seaside town atmosphere without needing to venture far from the seafront.

Families with younger kids will get the most mileage out of this. It's low-stakes, competitive enough to keep them interested for a bit, but not so demanding that it turns into a frustration fest. Teenagers might find it a touch childish, and honestly, serious golfers won't get much from it either. What you're really paying for is the excuse to sit outside with decent coffee and a gentle bit of entertainment.
